Fishing Report

April 14, 2016

Ice is coming off the lake. There has been a couple boats fishing. The fish are bitting real light. Have not herd of many being caught.

The North boat ramp is open and ready to use. We have not put docks in yet. As soon as all the ice is gone we will start putting docks in for the season.

Lake is 99.9% ice free. There has been a couple boats out every day for the last 4 days. Have not got to hear how they are doing. We do know that when the water is this cold the fish bite soft. Use small amounts of bait and make sure the hook points are exposed.  North boat ramp is the only ramp the is avaialble at this time.

Water is getting warmer about 45 degrees. The bite has increased over the last week with warmer water. Most fish are being found in 12 feet of water. Power bait as well as worms are working. Trollers are not doing well at this time.

Water temp yesterday was 54 degrees. We are starting to see limits of fish. Mostly in 23 feet or deeper water. Rainbow, yello corn and garlic power baits seem to be working best. We will do our best to update this fishing report once a week. If you want more information like us on facebook ( diamondlakeresort ) there we daily updates and post fish pictures.

Fishing really can't get any better than it is right now. Most people are comming in with their limits within 2 hours. It dosn't seem to matter if you use power bait, worms or troll. Are are working well. And fish are being found all over the lake. Ask at our marina where the current hot spot is located.

Don't want to sound like a broken record but fishing is just as good as it was for the last report. It seems that most are doing best in 20 to 30 feet of water. And it does not seem to matter what you use. Power bait, worms or trol. Everyone is catching fish. !4 inches seem to be the norm with an occasional 18 to 20 inch in the pile.
