Fishing Report

June 7, 2018

Water is extremely clear and the midge hatch is over. The mosquitoes are starting to come on but not extreme as of this morning. That last statement can change very rapidly so please bring mosquito repellent. As far as fishing most everyone is being successful no matter what they are using. Trollers are using wedding rings with a night crawler. Also flat fish are working as well. Bobber and night crawlers are working at the south end. As well as fishing the botton with night crawlers or dough bait. The cheese hole and the shrimp beds are producing fish as well. As always stop in and ask the marina staff what's hot. They know what is working best at the time.

Water temperature this morning is 46.2 degrees. Fishing with power bait or worms has been extremely good in 20 feet of water around the shrimp beds. Most productive power bait has been corn. Trolling has been very good as well. It really does not seem to matter what you troll. Everything seems to be working.

The ice is off and fishing has been excellent at Diamond Lake. Limits of fish are common for those who are fishing in 12 to 20 feet of water on the west side, or north end of the lake. Corn flavor, salmon peach or chartruese power bait seem to be producing the best right now. The set up is 24 to 30 inches of leader, a swivel and a 1/4 to 1/2 ounce sliding weight. Reports of Ford Fenders with worm is working for those trolling. Check at the Marina for up to date information and good luck.
