Rainbow Trout Fishing is Back !
The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife estimates there
are over 400,000 trout in the lake available for harvest during the 2012 season. That's right,
400,000 plus trout ranging in size 11 to over 20
inches. And, the limit at Diamond Lake has been permenately raised to
8 trout per day of which one can be 20 inches or more. Last season produced several trout in the seven pound
range. Is someone going to catch a 10 pounder this season?
Opening day is April 28th. We expect the ice to be off the lake early
this spring. Check our fishing report for current information and pictures of
the ice melting off the lake.
